What is Subtile?
Subtile is a web app for short-form video. It captions any video with word-level timing and animated styles, and it helps Twitch creators and clippers find clips, reframe them for 9:16 and caption them in the same editor.
What kind of videos work best?
Anything with speech: talking heads, podcasts, interviews, streams and gameplay with commentary. Upload your own files or start from a Twitch clip on one of your boards.
Which languages are supported?
Subtile transcribes 21 languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi. It can also detect the language for you.
Can I correct the captions?
Yes. Edit any line or word, change its timing, find and replace across the whole transcript, and set how many characters fit on a line. Styles and animations can be changed at any time.
What can I export?
A video with the captions burned in, SRT and VTT subtitle files, or a Premiere Pro project with your timeline.
How do I sign in?
With Google, Twitch, or an email and password. Connect Twitch when you want to work with your own broadcasts. Use the same verified email to keep your sign-in methods linked.
I used the previous Subtile editor. Where are my projects?
Accounts from the previous Subtile editor are moving to this new app. Once yours has moved, sign in with the same email and your projects, presets and files are waiting for you.
What is the VOD clipper?
A tool that scans a full Twitch broadcast and suggests the moments worth clipping. It is in a private beta for invited testers.
Where are my files kept?
In your cloud library, with 2 GB of space per account. The privacy policy lists every service that processes your data and why.
